How are you guys doing? Sounds like you’re doing great, and some of the kids are starting some big steps in their life aka: Josh graduating. It's a huge step, he'll love it. But mom, trust me, he doesn't have to worry about growing up, because you truly don't grow up till you come on a mission. It's tough work that allows you to grow up. The Hardest things you usually get the most out of, it's so true with the mission. That's cool that her farewell was good, it'll be fun having her in the mission field.
Hey that graduation card is sweet. Josh is so Shuai (handsome). He is a stud, that is a sweet picture of him!!! I remember graduation that seems like so long ago, man I’m growing up way too fast. But it's fun I like having life ahead of me.
This was one of the most spiritual weeks of my mission!!
Mon-
Today we went with Elder Youd to Zhou Fen for his last day on island because they flew out the next day. It was weird to see those 2 leave and to think they’re at home right now not missionaries is a crazy thought. But it was fun having their parents here. His parents changed my mission. As we were saying goodbye (yes I cried, got the mom genes), but their parents said something that changed my mission. His dad shook our hand and said "Work Hard" His mom then said "Yeah, the people here are great" Then the dad said "It sure would be nice to see them in Heaven" Then the Mom said "It really wouldn't be hard to come back". On the taxi ride back I was pondering it, and I had a sensation over come me how much I love the people of Taiwan and the country. How I know it's going to be hard to leave, and easy to come back. I know it's going to be great to see them in Heaven which is why I labor everyday to help them receive the gospel. I’ve been praying for charity for the longest time, trying to develop it and studying it. I felt a Love for this work more than I ever have before. It wasn't about numbers anymore it was purely about souls and their happiness. It was an amazing transformation that the Lord allowed me to receive in his mercy. I was blessed with a part of charity that was lacking before that moment. It was an amazing thing. This work is so great, and to do it among amazing people is even better.
Tue-
We had a great day. We had district meeting which was short, be we went to the 1st counselor in the bishoprics house to teach English to his kids as service, they have an amazing family. I love them so much. Then we were able to teach Josh, our stud that got baptized on Sunday. He pretty much taught me all the commandments, it was cool to see someone know so much. To tell you a little about him, he doesn't really show his personality at all. He doesn't smile much, and rarely talks. To know if he understood it or not he would just nod his head. It was cool though to help him understand more about the gospel to get prepared for baptism. Then at the night we met with one of our investigators who has heard everything and not really willing to be baptized. His name is YE. But something cool happened, I don't know if He likes me very much and he likes to ask questions to try and make us make mistakes in what we say so he can justify it as not needing to do something about the gospel. But I thought of the promise that if we listen our mouths will be filled. So I did! I never listened so intently to someone or something as I did in that lesson. He kept asking me if I would understand his question, I was like I’ll try ask me. he was like well if you don't understand how are you going to answer. I said the Holy Ghost. I had strict confidence in that promise. I listened to the point of being tired, but my mouth was filled. He asked me question after question I just quickly without even thinking answering with passages from the scripture and quoting scriptures. It was an amazing experience to see the promise fulfilled. My answers left no room for him to complain or talk his way out; it was straight forward but with love. It was a very cool thing. I learned how important it truly is to listen. Regardless what you are doing in life, Listen, Listen, Listen. You'll have a lot better life if you listen more and talk less.
Wed-
It was a really productive day of missionary work on this day. We wrote notes and took them around to every one of the wards new converts. We got to know our new area and got to help our new investigators. Then we were able to teach Josh again before English class. He is a stud, I love him so much. Then English was amazing like always. I love teaching. We have so much fun in class, and my students are amazing. But we saw a huge miracle. A random new mom came in with two little kids. She asked me the difference between our church and others. She has no religious background but was interested. so I taught her after English class. It was a huge miracle, she understood it very well and committed to pray about it. We'll be seeing her this wed again after English. It was a spiritual lesson, just too see someone not knowing the truth then understanding it little by little is a wonderful thing.
Thurs-
We started out in the morning and were able to do some service and teach Wu Guan Chen, our stud kid that comes does missionary work with us. We taught him English, he really wants to improve his ability to speak and read. I love that kid, I’m not even kidding I'd do anything for that kid, Absolutely anything. Then we went out to Nan Gan, we taught a Filipino lady that was a Christian but didn't belong to any sect. It's called the reformed bible which is their bible they read. She wasn't really argumentative but she was really sturdy on her "testimony" or her belief. The second we shared the first vision, she really said no more and we talked about our church really like she didn't have one. It was amazing to see the power of the first vision unfold. it's so true, who can doubt it, I don't know how you could. Then one of the most spiritual/coolest experiences on my mission. We had two lessons come so we had to split up. We had My companion and I, Joanne (newly baptized convert of 1 week) Johanna (member of 6 months) Pan JM (Member of 5 years) and Xu Dx (Investigator with a baptismal date) We were watching the Restoration with Joanne as my companion and Pan Jm taught him. I looked out at them teaching him and a sensation I’ll never forget filled my heart and soul. I had the process of missionary work flash before my eyes. With him having a baptismal date, a newly baptized sister, and 6 month sister, a 5 year sister, and 2 missionaries. As I watched Xu DX shake his head up and down as if he was understanding, I knew missionary work was true. I saw him and got the urge to jump up out of my seat and bear my testimony to him, and plead with him to be baptized. Just like in the book of Mormon, when some missionaries are filled with the spirit they can't be restrained that is the exact feeling that I had. It was amazing. I felt a sincere concern for the welfare of his soul. Then above him there was a picture of Christ Holding a lamb. Christ is our savior, and he carries each and every one of us as if we were that lamb, no matter what situation were from or in. The feeling I had that night will never leave me, that is a feeling that will be with me the rest of my life. I can't explain it through words, the best way I can explain it is to say, that I received a perfect testimony of missionary work and the importance of it. Then after the movie was over I turned to Joanne and said it's true isn't it, and with tears falling from her eyes she humbly and simply replied YES it is. The spirit of the Lord filled the room and allowed all of us to receive a stronger testimony of the restoration.
Fri-
We taught 2 amazing people. The first one is Chrys, and the second is Zhang JM. Zhang Jm is awesome. She is a investigator referral. Her friend had checked out a bunch of Christian churches but said that our church is the only one she felt right in, so she invited her to check it out. We taught her, and essentially she asked us, what do I have to do to be baptized. It was a shocker but as a missionary that is the best sentence you can hear. I took my planner and ripped out the baptismal interview questions and gave it to her. She'll get baptized. But then With chrys another very spiritual experience. We taught her and she is amazing. She is pregnant with twin girls. She is willing to keep the commandments and has a baptismal date. But the coolest thing is what she said at the end. She said it's weird every time I come to the church my two little girls seem to dance inside of my stomach. I had the distinct impressions to say "Where do we come from" "she said heaven" I said "who did we live with before we came" she said "Heavenly Father" I said "It’s because your two girls know Heavenly Father, they were just with him, and they dance because they know the happiness that their mom is about to receive from the gospel that they already know, and they know that they'll continue to have on earth what they had in Heaven, that is why they are dancing." I gained a testimony stronger than ever that we are from our Heavenly Father, and because he loves us so much he gave us this earth so we can learn and grow. If we didn't have this earth as a place to use the Atonement of Jesus Christ we would have no opportunity to return to live with him, we need to experience life, in the Book of Mormon it says that their days were prolonged so they could repent and prepare. I knew it and could not deny it!! That was a very cool experience that the Lord allowed me to have. Then that night as we counted our numbers for the day, my minds was struck up in remembrance of the souls of those two ladies and the others that we were able to talk. Numbers became a thing of the past. As I counted the numbers for the day, each name ringed in my mind! The Lord changed me and now the work is purely about the people not about the numbers. It was an amazing change to see happen and I’m grateful for the Lord answering my prayers and allowing me to have the Charity needed to do missionary work.
Sat-
Today was a good day. There is only one lesson I want to highlight though. It was with Dai DX. He is 17 years old and has alot of interest in the church. We were teaching him and we shared how he can be happy in this life using Mosiah 2:41. He said well what are commandments. So we told him, he told us he wants to know so he can have that happiness. It was cool to see the faith and desire that he had. So we taught him The word of wisdom, he committed and then set a baptismal date. It was cool to see him so willing. He's so prepared and is a great example to his friends.
Sun-
Today was sweet. We had the baptism for Josh. Like I said before he doesn't talk much or smile much or anything. As I said the prayer, I lowered him under the water and buried his old life, bringing him out of the water for a new life, His new life came up with a huge smile on his face. I couldn't help but feel the spirit. This 11 year old boy, that new the importance of baptism in his life. That smile I’ll never forget, it is engraved on my mind forever. Then after we changed out of our wet clothes, he was singing like crazy during the songs. He was different, it was amazing to see him change. I love that kid. It was great to be a part of his baptism. Then today we have a list of less actives and part member families that the ward gave us, and we were able to see 3 of them today. It was a good productive day of missionary work.
so yeah that was our week it was a good week, it was the best week of the transfer so far So that was very good. I’m starting to learn a new interesting instrument. It'll have to be a surprise for you guys in a year and 2 months.
I’ve set a goal to read my patriarchal blessing every single day. It has been cool to do it. My desire to get married has grown. My desire to study in school has grown by substantial matters and My desire to play golf at BYU has grown and exploded. I want it so bad. My Goal is to eventually get a scholarship so I won't have to pay for college. I’m going to play today also, we have a member that is going to pay for us. But yeah my desire to do that has grown. I have the drive and desire, I have faith the Lord will help me get it done.
Well I love you guys so much. Please know that I know this church is true. We need our Savior, we need a relationship with Heavenly Father through prayer or we won't be successful in this life (spiritually or temporally). This church is true no way of denying it. Thank you guys for your support, keep working hard and the Lord will help you!!

This is the baptism that we had yesterday. It was awesome, this kid has been coming to church since he was a kid, but his dad never let him get baptized. The kid really wanted to get baptized so he asked his dad, and a miracle happened his dad allowed him to. So I had the pleasure of sitting down with him and teaching him the lessons. He is an amazing kid. His name is Josh and he is 11 years old.

WE NEED MEMBER WORK TO BE DONE!!
How are you guys doing!!!! I hope you’re doing great, you guys sound great.
About the garbage can thing. I’m doing that after my mission. Think about it Steve and I averaged about 20 dollars an hour, if you work 5 hours a day that's 100 a day, 5 days a week 500 a week, 2000 a month and 24000 a year. That is a pretty good wage!! So that's what I’m planning on doing. But for Josh, just tell them don't slack at all. Steve and I kinda slacked some days, if it was hot we only wanted to work for 2 or 3 hours. Make a set plan; set goals how much money you want to make, spend the time you need to spend making these goals. Make a plan, use a time-line, prayer and then do all you can to accomplish that goal. Make sure you have a plan, treat it like your starting a real business, because it can be if you treat it like that!! And you'll make plenty of money there is a simple equation for this job. Time Input + Dedication = Money outcome. So yeah, it’s a great idea, I really am going to do it when I get back. "Just have Faith, and Go Do!" :D
Is there any way in the package you can send that same teeth whitener stuff. Also whatever you think seems fit. I don't really need anything. But yeah, maybe a lot of Strydex would be good!!!
I’m doing fantastic. We are having a lot of fun while working hard at the same time, it’s a wonderful mix. But this last week we worked hard, and found some success but the Lord really blessed us with a bunch of miracles at church. To name a few....There is a kid named josh who is 12 years old his parents haven't let us teach him yet, he comes to church yesterday and we find out we can teach him now, and they want him to get ready to be baptized in a couple of weeks so that was amazing, then a random lady showed up, apparently one of use called her and invited her to church so she came so that was another miracle, one of our recent converts brought a family member who has interest, Brother Zhang had his 13 year old son come who hasn't been willing to come since I got here, and we are going to start teaching him the lessons too. Just to name a few, the Lord really blessed our efforts during the week. It was great.
But yeah like I said last p-day we went golfing again. I found out if you go before 2 then it’s cheaper. So yeah that was sweet. But I totally got my swing back I was so happy. Then like the pictures I sent you, I was watching these two guys swing and it wasn't great, so I went over and asked if I could help them. I showed them some things I’ve studied over watching Tiger Wood’s swing among others and practicing it. They actually really improved; it was cool to see that. I love teaching, and I love the Look when someone is confused or trying to figure something out and they finally get it and it clicks. It happens a lot when teaching through the Holy Ghost, they are confused then it just clicks. but yeah that was really cool.
On Tuesday we had our last district meeting with Elder Davies and Elder Youd - that was interesting. It was really fun! I’m going to miss having two sets of missionaries in this ward. But now it's just the two of us. It was great! They both sang a song for the district. They sang Sisters of Zion to A time is far spent tune. It was funny! We were all laughing pretty hard. It's crazy to see 2 missionaries going home, and my trainer Elder Bishop dies this transfer. Man, it just made me realize that time flies. But it's up to us what we make use of it. So yeah make good use of your time. But yeah, I’m loving my life, I’m so happy. It's so fun to talk to the many different kinds of personalities on the road, getting the many different kinds of rejections and the many different kinds of people that are willing to set up and allow us to teach them.
It is an interesting world. It's really cool to think that we are the chosen generation to prepare the world for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. It's a crazy thought it's that close. But you look at the world and you can know it's that close. The things going on these days are unbelievable to me. You have 12, 13 year old kids smoking, every time you buy a drink at a convenient store you can't look at the counter or you'll be horribly blinded and scared by the things of the world, people with no patience, kindness, or love toward one another. All the violence and worldly disasters. It's closer then we think, and like it's said in the Scriptures it will come like a thief in the night - that is if we aren't prepared. I know that's my purpose as a missionary to help people come unto Christ and prepare for the glorious Second Coming of the Son of God our Savior, Jesus Christ. What a wonderful time it will be to see Him come out of the clouds with concourses of angels singing in praises. As we look to him with perfect hope of eternal life, I can't help but smile and thank Him and my Eternal Father in Heaven for allowing me this opportunity to come on a mission. I can't wait to see Trey again! I know that through Jesus Christ I will, I know right now he is involved and interacting in the same work that I’m doing right now, it's just in a different area. This work is so important, we all need to be involved so we can help as many people as possible come to know of the truth and receive the blessings of this restored gospel.
Sorry this isn't a way long letter, But, there is point I want to make to this writing of mine.

We missionaries are trying the best we can; we have faith, patience, diligence, hard work, testimonies of the truth. But WE NEED MEMBER'S HELP!! If all you get from this email is this that is OK. Know two things I love my family, but I also love the Lord, and I know that to love the Lord is to share the gospel He has given us. It says in the scriptures to fast for those that don't have the gospel, and to mourn with those that morn. In the scriptures it talks about having the joy of the gospel so great, that they couldn't be stopped from sharing the gospel with those around us. Do we have that fire and desire? If not we need it, this gospel is too important to just think about ourselves, we've already received the blessing of the gospel, we need to know enhance those by sharing it!!! Find someone that isn't a member invite them!! Help the missionaries in our ward and our area have people to teach. If we members get involved then the entire world's missionary work will improve greatly. The only way Taiwan is going to improve is if the members start kicking it in gear and getting their friends to listen. Please set a good example for the world and go out your self's and literally Seek to Find!!! There are too many precious souls that need this gospel, but have not yet had a chance. Strengthen your understanding of Preach My gospel, so you can feel comfortable sharing about the gospel in a street situation, and then go use the stuff you learn. Study Chapter 9 in Preach My Gospel, it's about finding.

Yeah, I ate something weird and got a little food poisoning so I had to go to the hospital for a couple hours, it was a waste of a night, but yeah, that was interesting. Then we had a ward party the other night and we played the square game, it was cool because we all got the exact same number of squares so I thought I'd take a picture. The other pic is a small ward party for Elder Youd and Davies that are leaving.
Yeah, we went golfing again last p-day. I was able to use my 6 months of extensively studying Tiger Wood's golf swing to teach this guy how to swing. He had only been playing for a couple of months, haha it was interesting and to do it in Chinese, man oh man. But, it was fun to see a talent the Lord has given me to help benefit someone else. He also asked about our Church, and yeah, I still have to call him and we'll be able to hopefully share the gospel with him.

Sad and Depressing turns to Fire and Motivation
What is up oh wonderfully amazing family!!
I’m so glad that I was able to talk to you guys last week, I loved hearing your voices and hearing that your all doing so well and that you guys are moving along strong. P-day moved to today because today is temple day so yeah.
But the project on the bathroom looks amazing, I love you guys some much. I see those pictures and just a place in my heart that just melts with love seeing the hours that you guys put into that. Tell Grandpa and Grandma that my heart was in the project too. But really I can just feel the love that went into that project just by looking at the pictures; it's amazing what happens when you stop thinking about yourself and serve others, regardless if it's easy or hard and that point in time. Service is necessary to enter into the kingdom of God! I’m grateful to be surrounded by a family that is all about giving "self" up for others. I love my life, my family (including extended) and my Savior. I’m so lucky, I wouldn't want my life any other way; it's perfect (well as perfect as a life could get without being actually perfect)! Thank you guys so much for the amazing attitude that you have, and the example that you guys give me. I love it so much, this is why at family parties I always enjoyed hanging out with the grownups, no not because I was mature, because I was anything but that, but because I got to study your example and learn and grow from you guys, also got to sit in a loving atmosphere with all the grownups and talk about life. I love family parties, I love all my aunts and uncles, and I love sitting down with them and just talking. There is nothing better than a soul to soul deep talk, that's how you develop solid relationships. I believe that I’ve built those relationships with all my aunts and uncles. It's a wonderful thing to be in families that are so caring and unselfish. It's what I strive and live for; to see a loving atmosphere where we can all learn and grow. Thank you

Let me give you a little description about the weather right now (sorry if it's not pure and clean but it will help you understand). Because of the air conditioner I wake up to a cold surrounding, more comfortable than ever. I walk into the other room to find out that was just a fleeting feeling. I begin sweating little by little as I get into the shower. But, it's okay because I take a shower and it feels great. I’m clean and ready to start the day. Problem is, I step out of the shower and the sweat seems to come, slowly but still comes. I hurry and turn on the AC so we can have that cool atmosphere during our studies. After a good study, we head out the door. The adventure begins right there when you step into the hallway. You suddenly feel as if you are going to suffocate because of the humidity and stuffiness in the air. Right then you know what the weather outside is going to feel like. I’m riding down the street on my bike with sweat dripping from my nose and face. I contact a guy on a scooter pull out a tract to give him, but the problem is a wet, damp tract does no good. I go to pull out another tract and come to find out they are all drenched in my sweat. I take of my helmet to get a drink of much needed water, when I find a waterfall cascading down my face from my less then dry hair, which has been heated up under my helmet all day. The feeling of my shirt stuck to my skin is more than uncomfortable. The feeling that my pants too are stuck to my legs is even more uncomfortable. You sometimes get a random headache because of the heat and humidity. You have a lesson at 2 and 3 so finally you get to go inside for a little while. Then you get the horrible call, "I can't come." "The 2 o'clock canceled," my companion said. Five minutes later another dreaded call, "I’m busy right now." "The 3 o'clock canceled," my companion said. Well the thought going through your head at this point is I’m tired, my feet hurt, it's so hot, where’s another 7-11 so I can buy water, I’m hungry, won't just one person accept this message. But then, with a humble prayer of gratitude for what we have, we ask Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to help us through this. Then we remember the atonement of Jesus Christ, we think our life is hard! We think twice of the healing power of the atonement, which is to even overcome the feeling of tiredness and others alike. We prayer, and all of a sudden those things become small now. They are not even thought up in the capacity of our brains anymore, the only thing that fully encompasses our brain is, who needs the gospel? Where can I go to help someone change their life? Quickly the situation that was sad and depressing turns into a situation with FIRE and MOTIVATION that the human mind and heart can't comprehend. It's a heavenly gift to have fire and motivation to do the work. You don't even know what is happening you just go and do. The day ends and you look at your planner to see who you contacted that day. I find names of 3 families, 2 kids that invited us to the side of the road (yeah they contacted us) and many others who are willing. Is that a successful day? A successful missionary is measured on the commitment to find, teach, baptize, and help strengthen the ward members. Was I a successful missionary yesterday, I would say YES! The Lord accepted my work, even though it wasn't all perfect, that's what the atonement is for, to help us reach the realm of miraculous or the impossible. In the sight of God impossible doesn't exist in the dictionary, and as far as I’m concerned it doesn't exist in mine either. I came to find out that "it's not the situation that affects our decision making or attitude, it's our decision making and attitude that affect the situation and creates the desired outcome"-Elder Rasmussen

One though wasn't able to come to church because the military called him up early, so we are hoping he can still make his date. We just set another date yesterday which puts the baptismal pool at like 8 people or so because we had one just drop-off. But we need to keep moving forward, and find, find, find. Because nothing can happen until you find people to teach and share the restored gospel with. But that's about our situation is just trying to do the best we can and letting the Lord take the rest as His work. It's an amazing thing to see people just change because of the Spirit, and are willing to set baptismal dates, and get ready for baptism, I love it!
"Another thing I’ve been thinking about that will help you now and any time in the future is to take ownership of whatever you are working on. What I mean by that is to think in terms of this is yours so you are going to treat it as if. But we all live and learn. Learn this early, right now." That is an insert from dad’s letter that he sent me. I’ve taken that to heart and it's changed my mission and I know will change my life. I’ve been doing that and it's making things a lot more solid, and I’m more involved in understanding what is going on in the ward and area, instead of just being the junior companion. We've been talking more closely with the bishop and getting things straightened out with the ward missionary stuff, I’ve been talking with God, how I can more fully sanctify myself to his work, and how I can become a better example to those around me. It's really made me into my personal leader. What I mean by "personal leader" is along the lines of mastering one’s self. We master our self, only then can we be a real blessing and leader to those we are sent. So I’ve been really striving through the atonement of Jesus Christ, to master myself and do all I can to be a leader and submit my will to the Lord. I know I’m walking in a newness of life. I’ve got far to go, but I have seen myself change and become a servant of the Lord! I love sharing the gospel, and seeing people with smiles on their faces when they figure out that through the gospel, they have found that piece that fills the hole in their lives.
I know this gospel is true, and I wouldn't want any other life right now. I’m grateful for you guys and all the support that you give me, thank you so much.
Christ lives; He lives and leads this church today. I am a messenger of Jesus Christ; I represent Him on this earth today. I will do everything I can to do what a servant or disciple of the Lord would do for these 2 years and the rest of my life. I’m sanctifying my life to Him, because He gave his whole life for me. I’m so glad that I was able to talk to you guys last week, I loved hearing your voices and hearing that your all doing so well and that you guys are moving along strong. P-day moved to today because today is temple day so yeah.
But the project on the bathroom looks amazing, I love you guys some much. I see those pictures and just a place in my heart that just melts with love seeing the hours that you guys put into that. Tell Grandpa and Grandma that my heart was in the project too. But really I can just feel the love that went into that project just by looking at the pictures; it's amazing what happens when you stop thinking about yourself and serve others, regardless if it's easy or hard and that point in time. Service is necessary to enter into the kingdom of God! I’m grateful to be surrounded by a family that is all about giving "self" up for others. I love my life, my family (including extended) and my Savior. I’m so lucky, I wouldn't want my life any other way; it's perfect (well as perfect as a life could get without being actually perfect)! Thank you guys so much for the amazing attitude that you have, and the example that you guys give me. I love it so much, this is why at family parties I always enjoyed hanging out with the grownups, no not because I was mature, because I was anything but that, but because I got to study your example and learn and grow from you guys, also got to sit in a loving atmosphere with all the grownups and talk about life. I love family parties, I love all my aunts and uncles, and I love sitting down with them and just talking. There is nothing better than a soul to soul deep talk, that's how you develop solid relationships. I believe that I’ve built those relationships with all my aunts and uncles. It's a wonderful thing to be in families that are so caring and unselfish. It's what I strive and live for; to see a loving atmosphere where we can all learn and grow. Thank you

Let me give you a little description about the weather right now (sorry if it's not pure and clean but it will help you understand). Because of the air conditioner I wake up to a cold surrounding, more comfortable than ever. I walk into the other room to find out that was just a fleeting feeling. I begin sweating little by little as I get into the shower. But, it's okay because I take a shower and it feels great. I’m clean and ready to start the day. Problem is, I step out of the shower and the sweat seems to come, slowly but still comes. I hurry and turn on the AC so we can have that cool atmosphere during our studies. After a good study, we head out the door. The adventure begins right there when you step into the hallway. You suddenly feel as if you are going to suffocate because of the humidity and stuffiness in the air. Right then you know what the weather outside is going to feel like. I’m riding down the street on my bike with sweat dripping from my nose and face. I contact a guy on a scooter pull out a tract to give him, but the problem is a wet, damp tract does no good. I go to pull out another tract and come to find out they are all drenched in my sweat. I take of my helmet to get a drink of much needed water, when I find a waterfall cascading down my face from my less then dry hair, which has been heated up under my helmet all day. The feeling of my shirt stuck to my skin is more than uncomfortable. The feeling that my pants too are stuck to my legs is even more uncomfortable. You sometimes get a random headache because of the heat and humidity. Last p-day we were running to Costco, and there was a mammoth of a man playing softball so we thought we'd stop and play some with him. Yeah I'm not good at all, but as you can see my right elbow is in just like it should be for golfing!!! :D, Yeah I'm stoked that I still have the golfing form in me!!!

Another great week in the missionary field. Me and Elder Gania with the Lord's help are tearing this place up. It's going to be a really fun transfer. I can't believe it's already a week into it though, it's crazy how time flies by so fast if you’re busy and doing stuff you love. Something I’ve come to realize, whether we like it or not time will keep going, so now it's our duty to to what is best use of that time, because we only get each time period once, so we need to make the most of it. I’m so grateful that right now I’m on my mission serving the Lord, and using the best use of my time I could possibly be doing right now in my life.
Our Week...
Mon- We went to Costco and bought some things to eat, and we ate pizza there. Their pizza is so good. We just then got settled with the new companion and everything. It was a sick night, we went out to Nan Gan and did work. The Lord helped us teach 3 lessons on the street and find some good people that we will be able to teach and help progress. This night is when is started pouring rain and we got soaked.
Tues- We went contacting in Nai Hu, and ran into our recent convert that we haven't had the time to meet with a bunch because of his work, but he took us out to lunch. It was a sweet little miracle that happened. Then we just contacted and found a bunch of other people also. We planned the night before to teach one of our investigator's about the spirit. And a specific question we were going to ask him was the W words. Where, what, why, and when you feel the spirit. So we got to the lesson and he was sitting in on institute class. So we just sat in there with him. But the coolest thing happened. The teacher in the institute class asked that exact same question. It was such a cool miracle. My companion and I just looked at each other and couldn't stop smiling. Just shows that the spirit is the same across all those that are worthy and doing what they are supposed to do.
Wed- We went to buy a map of our area, and while we were there we ran into a kid that was 20 years old and was from Canada. It was sweet! We talked to him a little and invited him back the next day so we could give him an English book of Mormon. He is only going to be here for a week. But that was also a cool miracle to run into him. Something I’ve changed in my contacting, which has made it a lot better. As I talk to someone I picture them in white getting ready to get baptized. But the most powerful contacts I’ve had on my mission I'd say, was one with a guy that his legs were kind of crippled and he was on crutches and another man. I pictured them receiving perfect bodies and standing in the presence of God dressed in white as happy as could be. Those two contacts I felt the spirit fill my body and penetrate to theirs. Even though they didn't accept, I was sure I did what I could of giving them a chance and the Lord was pleased. It was way cool experience. But it's really helped me every contact to have more love for that specific person, and put all my heart into each and every contact. Another really cool experience -- We were on the train coming back from Xi Zhi. And I ran into a guy that stopped, and allowed me to talk to him. He was amazing, he was asking the connection between God and Death. I opened up the scriptures to the chapter Alma 40. The coolest thing then happened, I read 2 full verses in characters to find out where the death part was to share with him. I truly believe the Lord blessed me with the gift of tongues at that moment. It was the coolest thing ever. He was astonished by the power of the Book of Mormon, when I said I want to give you this book, He was stoked. He was like really I can have that book. He doesn't live in my area, but I believe the Lord will take care of him! It was a cool miracle to be a part of.
Thur- Man I love contacting. I couldn't contact all day long. It's so fun to teach the gospel on the street. You just have so many different situations you run into, but the coolest thing is every situation needs the gospel. But we were able to teach 6 lessons today, with 2 of them being new guys we haven't met with before. But I saw another miracle. I was on the street and contacting a lady. I asked her if she thought God existed. She said no. I asked her why not. She said because if there really was a God, then on earth He would have a religion. Haha I was like well, I can tell you that I know there is a God, because I know he does have a religion. Then I shared the first lesson, about Joseph Smith. She loved it. She believed it was true, and she also was very excited to receive a Book of Mormon. Then I asked her where she lived, and was sad to find out she wasn't in my area. But she lives in the area my old companion Elder Daniels is in. So I wasn't worried at all to send her over there. It was a way cool experience on the road.
Fri- Today was a very interesting day. We went to 101 In the morning to give Kevin his Book of Mormon, he said he won't promise that he'll read it. But the important part is now he has the power of the book of Mormon in his life. And if he reads it, it will start to change his life. But today was interesting. Man we got rejected a lot. But that's what’s makes it fun. It was a nice humbling experience for the Lord. He was like I’ve been given you guys too much success so here’s a wack in the side. But then at night we taught our recent convert, she's doing really good.
Sat- The Lord testing our faith on Friday paid off. Today was a huge day. We saw miracle after miracle. We taught 9 lessons today. We wrote the progress record in the morning, then right out the door I stopped a lady on her scooter and taught her the first lesson. Cool thing was a member randomly showed up and really helped me out in the lesson. The lady became really good as the member bore her testimony about the gospel. It was a awesome miracle. Then we went and sat down with the Lo family (The miracle less active family). We had a powerful lesson with them. They committed to start preparing to be sealed in the temple. It was the most amazing thing to see the whole family willing together to do this journey. Then that night we were out contacting and we contacted into a group of 4 girls and 1 boy who were all 13 years old. We were talking, turns out one of them is actually a less active family from our church. So that was miracle in of its self. But then somehow I made sure 3 of the girls would never smoke and made them promise me. Then the boy who was on a cell phone, went over behind some trees. I asked the girls if he smoked they said no. Then I looked over and he had a lit cigarette in his mouth. This kid is 13 years old, that is Cade’s age. So I rode around the trees to take it from him, because that is just not right. Then he went back by the group so I couldn't get to him on my bike through he trees. But a random mom was walking by with her two little girls. She's like what’s going on. I was like he’s smoking, 13 years old and smoking. She freaked out at him, it was so funny. She told him to through it away right now, and go home. Haha, you know when you were a kid and you know you’re doing something bad, then a parent calls you out, and you get that way embarrassed look on your face and don't say any more words. Yeah that’s what happened. But that’s just not acceptable, smoking is a huge problem here.
Sun- YEAH church. Cai who is in the military right now came, he is solid on baptism, he will get baptized this transfer. Then The Lo family also came to church. While playing the elevator game, the elevator opened and I saw their shining smiling faces. It was a beautiful sight, they were so happy to be back in church, I couldn't tell the Lord was happy also because of the feeling I got. It was a good day just because of the success at church. Man I love missionary work.
So yeah family I can’t wait to talk to you guys next weekend. I’ll email about it on next Monday. I’ll probably call my Monday morning so your mother’s day! But I can't wait to talk to you guys.
PS. The lord has been blessing my language a ton. It was like waking up over night and being able to understand and talk noticeably better. And my reading characters has really increased too. I know the Lord is in this work, because there is no way that just pretty much over night it could improve that much. I know the Lord is blessing me for my efforts. I really am giving my will to Him; I hope that in return I can become a true disciple of Jesus Christ.

Right now I would say probably not, but through the Lord I’ve been developing that kind of love, and I know we all can. It’s actually not a “we can thing,” it's a “we must thing.” Charity is the single most important attribute for life's salvation. 2 Nephi 26:30 (look it up) literally without charity we are nothing. We could be good at everything, good looking, have a worldly perfect life, but all that goes to waste without charity (1 Cor 1:3) Personally I believe there are three areas of life that need charity the most: 1) Family life/Marriage, 2) Inside the gospel/missionary work, and 3) At the judgment bar. Mostly I want to talk about the first two then briefly the 3rd.
Family Live/Marriage
The bond between husband and wife is a very sacred bond Heavenly Father has entrusted us with, Isaiah 63:9 (look it up). Just as the angel comforts, we must be our spouses "Angels." We must bare their burdens and like the scripture said, "Carry them all the days of old.” The only way to accomplish this is through charity. Through real, pure charity there would be fewer fights or arguments. And with the true love of Christ I personally would say no more divorces. Because through charity we forgive, also through that charity we wouldn't do anything that would eternally or even harm at all our spouses. The exact opposite of charity is selfishness. I’ve obviously never been married but out here on my mission I’ve seen plenty of families and companionships (Elders and Sisters) torn apart because of selfishness. Satan is the creator of selfishness. Remember the pre-earth life, yeah he wanted to save everyone but he wanted ALL the glory to himself. If that isn't the definition of selfish then I don't know what is. Satan is the master of deceit. He is attacking families more than ever. I see families that both husband and wife served missions, married in the temple, but are less active. Their still amazing people, but Satan has a hold on that part of their lives, which is holding them from receiving God's blessings and improving. Therefore because of Satan's onslaught toward families we must protect our families. Love, Love, Love, not just any love but charity, the true love of Christ. Through the eternal bond of a temple marriage joined with true charity Satan doesn't stand a fighting chance. Hold to your husband and wife, serve them and have charity. You will have a successful marriage regardless of all the fiery darts Satan throws at you!
Inside the Gospel/ Missionary Work
Everything Christ did was out of charity. Healed the sick, cared for the poor, taught the unlearned and learned, then the most sacrificial, charitable event in the history of man, He died for each and every one of us (1 Nephi 19:9, Look it up). The perfect charity he had led him to hang upon a cross, while on the cross, asking God the Eternal Father to forgive those because, "They know not what they do," and eventually his spirit being then taken up to the one he loves and calls DAD! 2 Ne 9:18 (Look it up) Are we willing to follow this perfect example and carry our crosses with Jesus Christ in hopes we will live with him some day? We may be mocked for choosing the right..was Jesus not mocked? Our friends may betray us for choosing the right thing to do...Was Jesus not betrayed by Judas. We may not be accepted by the world for keeping the standards of the church…even being perfect was Jesus Christ not rejected by the world? In missionary handbook it says, "Your loyalty is first to the Lord, then to your mission president, then to your companion." According to Gordon B. Hinckley, "Don't be stupid" Don't follow the ways of the world. Be in the world not of it. Teach the gospel to a world that is ever so desperate for the cleansing ordinances of this gospel...Missionary work, missionary work, and more missionary work. We all need to be involved. This gospel isn't a get baptized, then sit back and relax gospel, we must get up off the couch and invite people to be baptized. (Alma 6:5-6, Look it up). Join together to help those people, sons and daughters of God who will be forever grateful for that invite you gave them to come to church, mutual, family home evening, or meeting with the missionaries. Pray and diligently study for the charity in order to do missionary work among our communities. In Preach My Gospel it tells us how to develop this charity in order to do the work! WE prayer fervently to receive this gift, also study, then look for opportunities to serve others. The word gift is a very important word. Because a gift is to be given something. We can't wake up one morning and tell ourselves we have charity, Because a gift from God must be earned and received from the hands of God himself. We have to do all we can to develop the gift of true charity. Once we start missionary work, through charity, missionary work will be a way of life. Not just we turn 19 or 21 and go on a mission, these both are perfect things we can do. But there is more, missionary work should be a way of life. I have an Aunt, Aunt Nola, if anyone wants an example of living as missionary; you need to look up to her. She's still young in heart and I’m sure since she was born till now she's been blessed with charity and missionary work ability. At family home evening she would tell me stories of her missionary work. I didn't really understand the importance of the work she was doing until I’ve personally come out to serve a mission. She is the best example that we never retire from missionary work. Gordon B Hinckley said that there is a better way to missionary work than just tracting, which is through members! We must befriend those that don't have the gospel yet. Spread the happiness, this is the happiest gospel on earth, SHARE IT! Luke 6:35 (look it up) Help those in need and teach them the true ways of Christ gospel.

Moroni 7:47(look it up) Charity is everything. Through charity we are accepted into God's kingdom to live with him. Because of charity we receive eternal life, the ability to eternally progress, the ability to live with our families forever and the ability to become Gods. The question is why wouldn't we want charity? Well, we should want it and we also absolutely need it. Heavenly Father has told us through scriptures we need charity to return with Him. Because we need charity he's willing to help us develop it. So how do we develop charity? Simply we must earnestly seek to serve others and study charity diligently. A major factor to studying diligently is prayer. Every single day ask the Lord for charity. Then do all you can to serve. The Lord will start to bless us with more and more charity.
Through studying charity I have grown to realize the true pure love of Christ. To even start to understand the love the Savior has for each and every one of us is a landmark for me to reach. This perfect charity led him to accomplish the atonement, which gives us all a path to return to live with Him. I know without a single doubt that the atonement is real. I’ve felt the healing power as I’ve knelt down in prayer to ask if my life's sins have been forgiven. I can tell you I received my answer. It's an experience I wish not to share, but I know the Lord has cleansed me. Jesus Christ is our Savior, He already suffered for our sins. Now we just have to accept that suffering. Just think about it, the Savior already suffered for every single sin. So when we don't repent, the savior suffered already for that sin really for nothing other than pure love for us. But if we don't use the atonement we really are just letting the Savior suffer! We need to use the atonement, repent every day, and come unto Jesus Christ. I know he lives! I know he lives! And loves us, He is our Savior and the only way to receive eternal life is through Him. So let us turn unto him. In His name, even Jesus Christ, Amen.
