Looks like you guys had an amazing Halloween. We actually had a great Halloween also. Us 4 missionaries were in charge of the haunted house at the ward Halloween party. We took the whole 3rd floor and threw a pretty legit haunted house. It was way cool to put into action and have the ward members loving it. We made 3 kids cry (Success!!!! kidding) But it was a fun thing. The best was the sent the Relief Society through together and they were all freaking out like little girls it was great. It was fun to be a part of.
This we had 6 people baptized in the district. We had 2. We'll have one getting baptized next week also hopefully!! Marissa the Philippine that we were working with, and then Sister Ji Hui Er. They are both amazing people. It was so awesome to see them enter into a covenant with the Lord to serve him for the rest of their life's, In preparatory for the second coming of the Lord! (I’ll send pictures next week). It was a little crazy. Because the other Song Shan Elders had 4 baptisms with our 1 in Song Shan. That baptismal service started at 12:30. Marissa's was in another place because she was getting baptized into the English ward. That started at 2:30. So I baptized Sister Ji then we had to get in a taxi and fly to Jin Hua Jie to make it in time for Marissa's baptism. We got in the taxi and just told the taxi driver to get us there as fast as he could. A ride that usually takes 30-40 minutes took 15 minutes granted he broke every traffic law in the book, or that has ever existed!! It was funny to see him drive, but he got us there fast, so I'm not complaining. I forgot has loving and how much things English wards give people. After she got baptized she got flowered with gifts, and attacked by all the Philippine and American members. I just was reminded of the ability our ward at home has to take care of everyone and how wonderful of a ward we have back at home. We are so lucky to have friends all around us, to have home teachers, visiting teachers, help when needed, comfort to be given and love to share. We live in a wonderful community. IT was a good remembrance of back home. Not saying that the Chinese wards don't do that, but Taiwan needs to work on home teaching. It hardly gets done, which is why so many people fall away from the church. Home teaching is essential in the kingdom of God established here on earth.
I’ve been struggling (like mom) this last week with the wickedness and evils of the world. I love the people with all my heart, but they are en twisted in a never ending chain of death and hell, that is very, very, very hard to get out of. This week we got flooded with "bu yao" "bu xu yao""bu yong""mei you yong" All that have to do with, no use, I don't need it, I don't want, all things that aren't true because they don't know the reality of this gospel. Last night for instance we saw a huge miracle helped a mom sit down and meet her God. She committed to prayer and working to meet her Heavenly Father who loves her. On the way home for 45 minutes we talked to probably 35 people, all said in some sense or another, I don't want to listen. It was hard, and the worst was "I don't need that." It hit me to the core. I didn't know how to act, they are so blinded by the other powers. They don't even know what they want or need. Everyone needs the gospel of Jesus Christ. But many people, like the scriptures are blinded by the craftiness of men or the foolish traditions of their fathers. It's sad how much disrespect gets thrown at Christ. It's not fun to hear it all. Then to end the night, a man with his wife and kid on a scooter. I asked them a question to do with families. He was like you guys are the Mormons, Get away from us, then drove off. It just the prophecies of the holy prophets that our church will be a few in numbers and hated or treated harshly by all, but will be a light to all those around us. I really feel like My companion and I are a ball of light walking around a Godless Sinful City!! or in essence a Godless Sinful World. Sorry family I don't have a ton of time this week, next week will be a lot better and have pictures of the baptism. But Just know this work needs the gospel of Jesus Christ, do everything in your power to share with everyone that doesn't have it. This world is about to burn from evilness now, NOW is the time to step up our faith and become sanctified servants of the Lord. We need to put our lives on the line for the Savior.
I know this gospel is true. I know Jesus Christ is my best friend, Savior and Redeemer. He truly is my life and my light. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I love reading, studying, and pondering its passages of perfect complexion and writings of ancient prophets who saw our time and day and all the evils that existed. The preparation for the Second coming is happening all around us we have no time to wait, put on our work shoes and gloves and get to work. This is the most important and happiest work in the world. I am blessed to be a part of it.
Thank you guys so much for all the support. You all look like you’re doing great.
Mom, thank you for doing that web page on Mormon.org. It looks great! I also know that your testimony and faith will bless many, many people.
I love you guys so much, Thank you guys for everything

My Goal is to speak English, Chinese, Spanish, and Tagalog!
Hello!!!!!!!!!
How are you guys. I believe the most precious things in life you really don't understand until after you serve your mission. Before my mission I was stuck on which girl liked me which didn't, what would this kid think about me if I did this, what would he not think about me if I didn't, what would happen if I did this or that, would they stop being my friend, or would I make friends? Now I finally, finally understand the purpose of life. To spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, and be a beacon to all those surrounding me. I don't need movies to satisfy me, I need to develop my talents that the merciful Lord has given me to develop. I will be held accountable to how I have developed these talents and abilities, before my mission, I probably would have been condemned for the way I carelessly tried to "develop" my talents and abilities. But I have found a new appreciation for life. It's not all about what girls like you, how smart you are, if you make the most money, if you are the best looking, if you are the strongest. These are all worthless things that Satan uses to control our lives. These things are those that God despises. He looks at us as all perfectly equal children of His. I know we are perfectly equal, it's been a hard change and I’m still working on it, to not compare with others, but just to take a direct conversation with the Lord and tell Him that I’m doing and will continue to do the best that I can. I know as I do this the Lord is satisfied with the work that I’m doing and will continue to help me. Nothing hurts me more than degrading one’s SELF image or thoughts. It's wrong, God created all of us, we all have godly potential.....until the moment we think we don't!!! I’m so grateful for the gift that the Lord has blessed me with to be humble and willing in all aspects of the work of the Lord do serve with all my heart, might, mind, and strength. I know as we do so, regardless of our life's situations we will return to the Celestial kingdom and live with God and our families forever!! What a wonderful promise and gift that each and every one of us have. We need to base our lives on the Atonement and teaching of our Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ, and we will never ever fail. it's impossible to, if we do so in such a spectacular manner as in serving Him each and every day, reading scriptures every day, praying every day, going to church with spiritual ears to learn what Heavenly Father wants you to learn. As we do these things we become spiritual giants with testimonies although may be tested, but will smash the face of Satan, who will stand no chance with someone who has a life build upon the Savior. So how bout it, lets re-evaluate our lives and see how we can better build our lives on the Rock!! That being the rock of a testimony of Jesus Christ, God, and this Church. :D I love all you guys with all my hearts.
This week was an interesting week but a great week at the same time. We went from 21 baptismal dates to 11. But it was a really good thing. Because we really focused this week on getting in contact everyday with all of our investigators. This really helped us know who was willing and who wasn't willing to progress toward baptism. So now we will have more time to go out and find those that are really willing to progress in the gospel and help them receive the sacred ordinances of baptism.
This week we had 3 investigators pass their baptismal interviews. I was so happy. We will have Sister Chen, Marissa (a sister from the Philippines) and Rita. They are all amazing daughters of God, that have each in a special way touched my heart. I’m so excited to see them enter into a covenant with the Lord that they are willing to serve him the rest of their lives!! This week is really exciting. In this Song Shan ward we are going to have 6 people baptized this coming Sunday. That means this month this ward has added 8 new members to it. Which is really good! They are all really happy, and are loving sharing the gospel and coming in on our lessons with us. Then Marissa because she is Philippine will go to the English ward Sunday afternoon to be baptized. I’m so excited for her, and can't wait for her to receive the happiness of receiving baptism. I have a new found love for the Philippine people. I want to learn their dialect Tagalog so I can serve a couple’s mission there and teach the gospel. My goal I set recently is to speak (English, Chinese, Spanish, and Tagalog) It's going to be hard, but I know I can do it. Because after I do it I can teach the gospel to 80 percent of the world. Then I will accept any calling the Lord allows me to receive. I love to serve, I’ve never been so happy then I am now. Testifying of the Savior of the world to a Godless nation that is in dying need of this gospel. It brings so much peace and solace to my soul. Yeah I know it’s the hardest thing I have ever done in my entire life. I’m tired every day, it's either blistering hot and humid, or raining and humid (take your pick), I get rejected everyday all day by those that follow in the wicked and foolish traditions of their fathers, I don't think it's possible to get "enough" sleep, I worry all day everyday about our investigators, I cry over those that don't have the interest to continue and learn the gospel, I don't understand much of the trials I go through, I get down and depressed every once in a while. But nothing will block my understanding that I am in the service of my Lord and Redeemer. He is my Rock and my Salvation. I know that through him I become a sharp tool in his hands. I am used every day, I am successful every day, I am happy in some way every day and often receive a fullness of joy, which can't be described by human created words. I’ve never been happier, what I’m doing right now I want to do the rest of my life. I hope that the Lord allows me to serve in callings where I can serve Him, and share the gospel the rest of my life. It pretty much says that in my patriarchal blessings, so I guess right now I’m preparing for the rest of my life in the service of the Lord. I also know that right now I’m serving with my little brother in the work of saving souls. I know Trey is now saving souls in the spirit world as I am now saving souls in Taiwan. It's a great comfort to know that this work will never be stopped. No unhallowed hand can stop this work from going forth to all nations and tongues. I know that is true. It's true until the Lord himself, even Jesus Christ comes down and says that the work is finished and that He is now King and ruler on the earth, which will be during his millennial reign. I know that he will come, he will come in power and glory, He will come out of the clouds with concourses of angels singing praises of his name. I can't wait for the day where I can witness the dissension of the Son out of the clouds. What a glorious and happy day it will be to touch the hands of the one who allows this life possible through repentance, and allows this work to move forward. I can't wait to meet the Savior. I know on my mission that I am more and more growing closer and closer to Him, I know He lives. I’ve had many special experiences on my mission that have helped my testimony grow of the Savior. I know that his atonement is real, that each and every one of us can have a new start to live and learn to change the lives of others as we are an example by living the doctrines of the gospel of Jesus Christ!! I love this gospel!
Training-
Things are going amazing. It's fun to remember back to when I first came on island. Elder Workman is a stud. He is doing exactly what the Lord would want him to do at this point. He's studying the language really hard, and is completely dedicated. Most important is that he is talking to everyone on the streets, bus, train. It doesn't matter where, he's talking!!! That is a great aspect to be blessed with. Because if you like contacting you'll like your mission in Taiwan. If you don't, you'll probably struggle a little. But he is doing great. Also his Chinese is really good for his 2nd week on island. It's going great though, we are seeing miracles. We just prayer as we continue to do these things and completely trust the Lord, we will continue to see more and more miracles.
District-
The district is doing really well. All the companionships got 8 or more new investigators this week. The mission averages is 4.8! So the district is working hard and seeing miracles from it. I love my district. It's interesting being in a leadership position, you start to realize that you or ME doesn't matter. It's all about those that you serve. I love just thinking about them and their needs. Trying to pray in their behalf and receiving what the Lord has for me to bless them and our district. Our district theme if I haven't already told you is "Unity in PERFECT obedience and faith"!! It's been going well. We are all fired up about the work and serving the Lord. I’m way excited each week for Tuesday afternoon, because we get to have district meeting. I love meetings because you always learn so much from meetings. That is if you are prepared to learn though!
I’ve never felt this way before. Lately I’ve been grieved by all the people not understanding the importance of this gospel, and how blessed we are to have it. I’ve pondered it, I just want to help them come into the light. But so many are off wondering the dark wilderness with black mist circles about their eyes, and rocks as hearts. I love these people. But it truly is a godless nation that will burn at the second coming of Jesus Christ. But I also know there are many, many, many people that have been prepared and are being prepared that will come unto the gospel of Jesus Christ!! That's the only thing that is moving me forward, is to give these godless people a chance to walk in the light. It's sad to see them use their free agency not so smart. A young man in his early 20's probably here in the Internet cafe all night, in the last 5 minutes has smoked 2 cigarettes and then continues to play games on the computer. You ask all people, what is your purpose in life.....make money. What about after you die, and to most people that doesn't matter, It's all about me, me, me, right now, right now, right now. They don’t care if they die and go to a happy place or come back to the earth as a dog. These people need the gospel of Jesus Christ, It's such a wonderful feeling when you walk around the corner in a dark, Satan infested city and see the temple in view. A feeling that was not felt 4 steps ago, fills your body. That street is a sacred, holy street, with a temple of the Lord. It’s the only spot like it in Taiwan. I just pray that the Lord will have mercy on these people, and know that they know not what they do, because they either have been blinded by their fathers or just don't know how to react when taught about Jesus!! I worry everyday for them, and thank each and every one that is willing to sit down and listen to the gospel, The perfect gospel of Jesus Christ! My favorite part of the general conference was the very first thing said by the Prophet, Seer, and Revelator of the church, President Thomas S. Monson. Every!!!! young man must serve a mission. Prepare now. I know the world needs more missionaries, you can see it here in Taiwan. I’m so grateful to have 2 parents who both set the example and served missions, and the opportunity I have to see 1 little brother serving a mission, 3 more that will, and a little sister if it's what God desires of her also. It's just a blessing to be born and raised up in a righteous family with a loving mom and dad who are both very, very strong in the gospel!! I can't even begin to thank you guys, dad and mom, enough for all that you have down for me!! I can't wait to see you guys again, and be around your goodness and your loving arms. Thank you so much for all the support. I love all you guys so much.
If you ever need anything, and I mean anything let me know, I’ll do everything in my power to get it done!!!!!

As Long As We Follow the Commandments the Lord Doth Immediately Bless Us!
Every week I get happier and happier to read about my family and how well they are doing. You guys are all so happy, I love it. I am so proud for a specific reason. When I read the part that dad and Josh are getting ordained tonight, dad to the High Priest and Josh to the Elders I was filled with the power and spirit of God. I know the priesthood is real. I’m so grateful for the example of priesthood that has been shown to me in my life by a loving father. I’m also grateful that I have the opportunity worthily carrying the priesthood, testifying that Jesus is the Christ, and that this is his restored gospel!!! What a wonderfully perfect calling I have, to be a servant of the Lord and the son of Klayne and Verena Rasmussen, and brother of Josh, Trey, Cade, Britton, and Abby. I have a perfect life, thank you guys!!!
Well this week was crazy!!! It was great. My first week of training and being district leader was very interesting. Elder Workman my trainee has caught on to the talk to everyone frenzy I love it. Last Sunday when I had all the goals from the companionship's in the district, I added them up and made a total goal for the district. It was a high goal, that when I called into the zone leader he didn't believe me when I told him at first. But I was praying how I could help my district reach these goals. Also since my district is very, very, very young, I have had some questions brought up like, How can I contact if I don't understand what they are saying. I was praying and one of the first times I received direct revelation through a random scripture that I have never read before. Two actually. I read them and it was exactly what they needed to know that regardless of their language ability the Lord will be by their side. One was even about speaking in tongues. It was a spiritual experience. But then I received more inspiration in order to meet our goals that we've set and our potential we needed to be perfectly obedient. So the next day, I assigned everyone in the district 6 pages of the white hand book. In district meeting we went over everything we can do to be perfectly obedient' missionaries. In Mosiah 2 it tells us that as long as we follow the commandments (or rules in this case) the Lord doth IMMEDIATELY bless us. It came true the night of district meeting when all the members of the district called in the first thing I said was. Tell me of the miracles, and they had many to tell me about. It was a great experience. In district meeting I just was filled with excitement and fire with the work. I read a bunch of fire quotes to get our fire up and excited to go out and talk to everyone. It was a great district meeting, the spirit of the Lord was in charge. But something funny, the starting of district meeting wasn't all too great. I wanted to take a district picture on the roof. So we all ran up there, after we took the pictures we went back to go down stairs and to our horror the door was locked behind us. So we had no way of getting off the hot roof to start our district meeting. So we ended up calling Wu mama to come help us get out. She eventually did which we were all so happy for. Then we all got in the elevator and started going down from the 10th floor to the 3rd floor. It stopped on the third floor and but didn't open. The elevator just started chanting out of order. I don't even know how to explain the bad luck we were having. But we had 8 missionaries and Wu mama all stuck in an elevator that wouldn't open. It was really hot and stuffy in there. They called the repair men to come and get us out. Eventually after 10 minutes. I just stuck my hand in the middle of the door and forced it open to get out. I don’t know why we didn't think of that earlier, but it was all good. A good experience to have as a part of a rockin first district meeting I guess if you want to be optimistic about it!!!
It was great to see the miracles and blessings of the Lord. This week we ended with 14 new investigators and 21 baptismal dates. It was something only done through the Lord’s hands. But it's not done, it will only continue to improve and get bigger and bigger until it's what the Lord wants it to become. Sister Chen passed her interview this last Saturday. She will be baptized next week. She is an amazing mom with two little girls. She is the professional dancer. This last week we went over the baptismal interview questions. I asked her what having a living prophet meant to her life. She gave the best answer I’ve ever heard. Then after the questions I looked at her and asked her Sister Chen are you ready to get baptized, she just looked at me and said YES!!! She then proceeded to say how she likes this church more and more every time she reads and meets with us. She is amazing. We will hopefully have 2 more baptisms this month Rita, and Marissa. Marissa is a Philippine, and Rita is a Taiwanese. They both are really good. We just have to push them through and help them this last week. So if you guys could prayer for them. But that would but 5 baptisms for this month which is actually really good. It's been exciting to see miracles. Then the other elders in our district are looking at 4 more this month. so our district is doing really, really good. I’m so excited to see this district grow together unto Christ. But yeah that is a little update on the situation. We also have a bunch of really good people lined up for November. It’s going to be really fun to see the hand of the Lord in helping these souls and children of God prepare for baptism.
Training has been the funnest thing ever. I love Elder Workman. It is great working with him, I’ve learned so much from him and I know I’ll just continue to learn more and more. This has been a great opportunity given to me from the Lord to help a new missionary learn the new real way of the Taipei Taiwan mission. We talk to everyone, and I mean everyone. We invite every, and I mean everyone to repent and come unto Christ through baptism. This is a great time to be a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints the only true church on the face of the earth. I know it's true!!!
Something really, really scary happened this week. We had president interviews this week. Something was brought up that shocked me. He was like OK your going home dates are July or September. Then he showed me two dates. I was shocked that I had to even think about it (which I won’t do), but it helped me realize that time goes by way too fast. So you don't want to waste one second of it. It's crazy that my year mark on island is almost here. My mission has just flown by, but I’ve loved every minute of it, both the hard and the easy. It's all been for the benefit of myself or those around me, and I’m grateful for the progress the Lord has allowed me to make in my character and views on pretty much everything. I have grown to be downright overwhelmed with the want and desire to get married for time and all eternity and my desire to do something with the talent of golf has climbed higher than ever. The Lord has blessed me with a vision of my life; I know where I want to go. I may not know which path to take to get there yet, but as long as I’m on the path of the Lord I don’t need to worry about the other stuff, he will show me the way.
I love this gospel so much. I love serving the Lord, and being close to him through prayer. I know through His power of the Holy Ghost that God Lives. Jesus is the Christ, The Savior of the world. I know this and it has changed my life. I know the power of the Atonement is true. I have felt the cleansing power, and I literally fill the cleansing power run through my body every time I partake of the sacrament. I know the power of the Priesthood is real. It does miracles when used righteously. I know I hold the power that God used to create the world and man. I am slowly but surely developing my faith in Christ. I know I can do miracles in his name. This is the true church of Christ. No one can prove it is not. I love my family and know they are the 2nd source of energy in my life. The first being my Lord and Savior, even friend Jesus Christ. I say this testimony in His name, Amen!
I love you guys so much, thank you guys so much for all the pictures and everything you guys do for me. Trust me, I get a burning fire and excited for the work when I read your letters and see pictures of each and every one of you!!!!
I love you guys

This Week has been a Crazy One, Some Big Changes...
Hey guys!!!! Sounds like you guys are doing great. I love to hear about your lives and how you are living them. Every time I read the update on my family I think of the way they are following in the way of the savior. You guys are the best family and truly follow the Savior’s example by being an example to all.
This week has been a crazy one, some big changes. I'm still in Song Shan, but I'm training this transfer and now have become District Leader. It's an interesting change. But I'm excited for the opportunity to serve the other missionaries and learn from my new companion straight from the MTC. It's going to be a great transfer.
This week was full of miracles. For some reason a bunch of our investigators just weren't able to meet as much as usual, but the Lord still allowed us to see so many miracles. Just the so many people on the road that need the gospel!! There are so many people prepared in Taiwan. It's an amazing thing to see the instant change in people’s eyes when you share the truths of the gospel with them and they hear it for the first time. It testifies to me every time that it's true. I love sharing the testimony the Lord has blessed me with and has allowed me to carry on my back, one that is true and firm. I know this church is true, and I know it will bless every single creature regardless of age, size, background, or living conditions. Everyone needs this gospel, and I will stop at nothing to accomplish the will of the Lord. I am his servant and I plan on sanctifying myself each and every day and doing to the best of my ability to serve him now and for the rest of my life.
Conference was amazing. I loved the focus on free agency of choice. I love the fact that they shared much about not over scheduling your life. That is the biggest problem in Taiwan; no one has time for their families or talents because they work all day every day. Or they sit down and play video games all day every day. I walked in to email this morning to over 20 kids playing computer games, they have been here since the night before, it's sickening. But, it made me so grateful for a loving home that I grew up in and the time I had to spend with my family. Yes, money is important, but the Time is more important!!!!! So many times I've heard, I love my family I need to support them. But they are just earning money, giving their kids a pay check, some money, that is not love; love is the time and special bond that we earn through spending time together. We need time with our kids and family members or we will fail!! When President Monson was talking about his parents, I couldn't help but become overwhelmed by the tears that filled with my eyes because of the love and respect toward you mom and dad, my parents. I can't even begin to express me love and affection and respect for you guys. But at that time I was crying was tears of sadness and joy, I could remember all the times I had disrespected you guys, I have gone against your word, I had challenged your role of leading the family, I had fully, intently rebelled against your words. I was pained with a dagger to my heart that I never ever, ever, ever want to come back. I was taught a lesson that day. I want and will serve you mom and dad till the day I or you guys pass over to the other side and be united with Trey in wait for the second coming of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I love you guys so much, I would be on the other side of the fence, sunk deep in the depths of hell with no chance in return without you. SHARE THE GOSPEL WITH UNCLE KEVIN I have made that my goal SHARE WITH HIM, HE NEEDS IT, HE DOESN'T KNOW IT BECAUSE HE HASN'T HEARD IT IN 200 YEARS!!!
Please......everyone needs this gospel. I am so grateful for loving parents who have taught me the truths of the gospel and helped me grow up. I know I have made mistakes, but I also know that my love for you guys is never failing. That love is based on the same love that I have for the Savior, learned from prayer and scripture study! I love you guys so much, I hope that everything I do the rest of my life, will never ever destroy the 3 names that I carry, and that I am so honored to carry around with me each and every day Jesus Christ, Rasmussen, and Ballif. I carry the names of the 3 most important people in my life and I know that it is a blessing to do so!!! I love my life and I love this work. I know it's true, I can't deny it.
This week we got a call to go and babysit the new elders and sisters that were coming on. I didn't know that the Tanner's cousin was also coming on, they look a lot alike. But Shaun has grown to be a giant, I don't remember him being that tall but he has grown to be huge. But I babysat an elder, Elder Workman. He is from Farmington and went to Viewmont. First thing I told him, one rule elder, YOU TALK TO EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN YOUR PATH, he said OK and we got to work. It was a fun night. It was full of trials no one really accepted us until the very end where we found an amazing Philippine who we taught the gospel too and who set up for another time to meet with us. Her family members are already Mormons she just has never been to the church or read the book of Mormon. She was amazing. Driving home that night I was in the taxi of death (I'll tell you about it in a minute) I got a call from Elder Daniels the assistant...He says how was tonight, I said it was amazing. He said you know what tonight is. I said Thursday night. He said yup. Then he just yelled. He was like President Grimley wants you to train. I was way excited. I really wanted too, and thought it would be a great opportunity to teach a new elder in the new ways of the Taipei mission.... I gladly accepted. He said be in the office tomorrow morning at 9. So we went the next morning. We got paired up with our trainees. I got paired up with......guess........yup Elder Workman. We were stoked. It is going to be so much fun. He played on the Viewmont football team, he also played safety, he was on the team we beat 3-0 and stopped them all 4 downs on the 1 yard line. haha we had a good little talk about that. But we are going to have an amazing transfer. We went out that night (Friday night) after we had gotten back to our area and started contacting. No one was really accepting him he wished he could speak better Chinese and if only if then he could find those prepared people. But I told him it doesn't matter about our ability if they are prepared God will help us. So we said a prayer and I told him to pick a principle he wanted to share that night. He picked repentance, So we said another prayer and asked God if there be anyone that needed a message on repentance please put them in our path, and oh was there ever. We just talked about repentance with every contact the rest of the night and saw miracles. He talked to this kid, we sat down with him he was 16 years old....He looks at us and said at your guys church is there anything I can do to make my past mistakes leave my life. I was astonished, I turned to Elder Workman and told him, you prayed for repentance, there’s your repentance. It was an amazing thing. I got a call during that contact so I took it while he continued to teach him. It was Elder Daniels. He said how’s the night going, I said amazing, telling him some of the many miracles that we have been experiencing. Then he said, on behalf of President Grimley, he wants to call me as district leader. You've earned it he said, president grimly knows the great work that you are doing. I was excited for the opportunity to serve and to learn from the other elders and sisters in our district. It's going to be a great experience!!!
Quickly the taxi of death story. So we took a taxi back from babysitting that Thursday night. The Taxi driver had to be in his 80's with the taxi clearly aged from the BC time period. the car shook back and forth as he drove straight and tried to stay in the lane. Horns all around left and right, the scarier being the loud yell of the buses that are about to run us over because he is cutting them off. It was a ride of horror. The nodding of the head with big black glasses kept us guessing if he were falling asleep or not. The red trucker hat made all the things connected making it a perfectly great moment in time. We kept talking to him to make sure he wasn't sleeping, but our strategy didn't seem to work, it seemed the second we started talking to him the worse his driving got. He would focus on talking with us and drift all of the 4 lane road. We were stuck in a dilemma, we knew not whether to talk with him s he wouldn't fall asleep or let him fall asleep and drive better!!! Eventually we just allowed him to drive. We all held on for dear life, as the huge buses, scooters, and other cars with honking horn drove past us in a rage of annoyance because they had no away around this yellow taxi, filled with white boys from America and an 80 year old taxi driver. I don't know how to explain the feeling I had during that ride. To make things worse, the car sounded to explode any minute, and break down in the middle of the road!! It was a crazy ride.
It has been a great weekend with my trainee. He is already talking to everyone and filling his planner up with numbers. The Lord has blessed us so much; I'm so excited for this transfer. Our district is full of fire, and it's only going to get bigger and bigger, our faith is only going to grow and grow. I'm so excited!
Well parents and family..I love you guys so much this is my update. Next week I'll send a bunch of pictures. It’s going to be a great experience to add to my mission. I can't believe I'm almost a year on island. It's going way too fast. I'm just cherishing every single moment of my mission. Because it is precious to me, and I wouldn't change it for anything!!! I know what I'm doing is right and is what the Lord would want me to do!!!!!
I love you guys so much!!!!! Thank you
Love,
Elder Rasmussen

This Week was Full of Good and Bad News...
How are you guys doing? From what I can see it seems like you guys are doing great!! Yesterday was my 11th month on island mark. It's just going by way too fast. It's crazy.
Sounds like the business is looking like it's going in the new way. I’m really interested in getting involved in the marketing aspect of it when I get home. I look at is as the gospel, it's so easy for me to go out and talk to everyone about the gospel because I know it's a must and it has changed my life. The same for that, it helped me a lot in my life, and I have no problem recommending it to anyone!!! I’m excited.
This week was full of good and bad news. Our 3 baptisms turned into 2. Brother QU he hurt his foot way bad, and the doctors wouldn't let him get in the water. When I heard that I called him up and just talked with him for a while and he was still good for coming to be baptized the next day. But Sunday morning he never showed up for church. He wasn't answering his phone either. So I had Guan Chen go and see if he was home. Turns out that he was but it just hurt too bad, he couldn't even walk. So that was depressing, the morning of the baptism he kinda bailed out. But you know what maybe this is the Lord's doings, and he'll be better getting baptized in Australia. But the other two baptisms were amazing Wu momma and Brother He. It went amazing, it was a very, very spiritual baptismal service. It was so amazing. When Guan Chen took his mom into the water to be baptized, as the witness, I was filled with the Holy Ghost a feeling that I can't describe. But I saw him take her by the hand and guide his mom into the waters of baptism!! He started to say the prayer and his mom started just crying and crying, which made him mess up on one of the parts. So he paused for a minute to get himself back together. But the coolest thing when he paused for a minute, thunder from outside erupted and made the loudest noise ever. It was really cool, we just sat there and watched them in the water together, the thunder erupted as if God was happy that she was getting baptized, Guan Chen said the prayer again and lowered his mom into the water and out came a new person. She is happy and has never been happier. After she was baptized she just put her head on the chest of her Melchizedek priesthood holding son!! I’m so proud of both of them; I want you guys to meet them so bad. I want to save money up to bring them to America to stay with us for a week or so...I love them with all my heart, I will do anything for them. Mom you'll love Wu mom, she literally is my mom in Taiwan, always feeding us, giving us fruit and everything. She is amazing!! When she bore her testimony after she was baptized she was using scriptures to share and everything. Man I don't even know how to explain the change that the Atonement of Jesus Christ has brought upon her and her Son's life. Now they are helping the rest of their family receive the gospel. His older brother is already reading the Book of Mormon. I heard his mom call him, she was like did you remember to pray last night, he was like no I forgot. She was like OK, don't forget to pray tonight. It was cute to see her follow up with her son.. She is amazing.
Brother He was amazing too. His girlfriend is already a member. They have had plans on getting married for the longest time. But finally they can now because he is a member of the church. After he was baptized she was hugging and crying with all the people that came to support them. It was a beautiful sight and a wonderful thing to know that in 1 year that will be a temple sealed marriage/family. I just love this gospel so much, it brings so much happiness and peace into my own life and the lives of those around me!! I know this gospel is true.
This last week was a week of challenges. We had many, many people set up and new mom's set up to teach. But calls after calls of disappointment that broke our hearts. We can't come, our mom doesn't want us to learn about Jesus, just excuse after excuse. But the Lord continues to bless us even through our trials. This has been an amazing transfer and I only imagine it to get better and better, we are going to end this transfer with a very, very, very strong last week. We are servants of the Lord and have no restrictions in what we can do with him as our head and us working as the hands. Anything and I mean anything is possible.
I know that what I’m doing right now is what the Lord wants me to do. I know that I have a relationship with my Savior and My God, because through sincere prayer I truly do communicate with them. I know that we have living prophets. I know that our church is the only true church in existence and will be the only one that ever is. We are all engaged in a extremely important cause, to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of mankind. We are the hands in this work, and have the opportunity to work miracles through the power of God. I know he lives. I know I’m his son, with the potential of becoming a God someday. I love this work and my life. I also love my family who have made my mission and my life possible. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
I love you guys so much

Sounds like the business is looking like it's going in the new way. I’m really interested in getting involved in the marketing aspect of it when I get home. I look at is as the gospel, it's so easy for me to go out and talk to everyone about the gospel because I know it's a must and it has changed my life. The same for that, it helped me a lot in my life, and I have no problem recommending it to anyone!!! I’m excited.
